The Certified Internet of Things Practitioner (CIoTP) course is a hands-on, 3-day training program that provides IT professionals with the foundational skills to design, develop, deploy, and manage IoT systems. From sensor networks and microcontrollers to security and data processing, this course bridges embedded systems with traditional IT environments.
Participants will assemble and configure an IoT device using the ESP8266 microcontroller and implement core features like analog/digital sensors, web interfaces, MQTT messaging, and data encryption. Through guided activities and case studies, learners will gain practical knowledge of IoT architecture, communication protocols, sensor processing, and the complete IoT development lifecycle.
The course also emphasizes how to manage privacy, security, and safety risks in IoT projects—ensuring systems are not only functional but also trusted. This makes it ideal for those entering IoT from IT, software, or engineering backgrounds who want to round out their embedded systems and integration skills.
No prior electronics experience is required. Learners will be supported step-by-step through hardware assembly and coding, making this an accessible yet robust certification path for future IoT developers, system integrators, and technical project managers.
Upon completion, students will be ready to pursue the CertNexus CIoTP (Exam ITP-110) certification.
