The CyberSec First Responder (CFR) course is a 5-day advanced cybersecurity training designed to prepare professionals to effectively detect, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents in real time. Aligned with frameworks like NIST 800-61r2, US-CERT NCIRP, and DoD 8570.01-M, this course builds the technical expertise required for roles in defensive cyber operations.
Learners will explore the full lifecycle of incident response—from assessing risks and analyzing threat landscapes to performing active threat hunting, log analysis, forensic investigation, and mitigation. The course teaches you to collect intelligence from both host- and network-based sources, assess vulnerabilities through penetration testing, and evaluate post-attack techniques such as data exfiltration and lateral movement.
Targeted at cybersecurity practitioners, including CSSP Analysts, Incident Responders, Auditors, and Infrastructure Support, this course ensures participants are equipped to defend and restore critical systems under pressure. It also prepares learners for the CertNexus CFR-410 certification, which meets DoD 8570.01-M requirements.
