Cybersecurity First Responder for Business Professionals is a 2-day instructor-led course designed to equip non-IT professionals with the skills to recognize, respond to, and prevent cybersecurity threats at work. As businesses face increasing cyberattacks, empowering frontline employees as "first responders" is essential to reducing risks and protecting sensitive information.
Participants will explore:
Fundamental cybersecurity concepts and common threats like phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering
How to recognize malicious emails, unsafe links, and suspicious network activity
Hands-on defensive practices such as password hygiene, enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA), and securing Wi-Fi networks
Real-world case studies like Colonial Pipeline and WannaCry to understand how breaches happen and how rapid response can limit damage
Day 1 focuses on:
Cyber threat recognition (phishing, malware, password attacks)
Simulations: identifying phishing emails, analyzing malware samples, creating strong passwords
Day 2 covers:
Incident Response (IR) fundamentals: Detect, Contain, Eradicate, Recover, Lessons Learned
Practical exercises: building an IR plan, using VirusTotal for email and link analysis, securing Wi-Fi networks, and team-based cyberattack response simulations
By the end of the course, participants will:
Act as a first line of defense against cyber threats
Implement secure practices for devices, browsing, and data management
React confidently and promptly to cybersecurity incidents
Support a safer, more resilient organizational culture
This course is ideal for all employees outside of IT—such as finance teams, HR, operations, customer service, and business managers—who need to play an active role in cybersecurity.
