Project Management Fundamentals for Project Managers is a 2-day instructor-led training designed for those stepping into project management roles or looking to formalize their existing project experience. This course bridges the gap between theory and practice, providing participants with structured, practical approaches to managing projects within real-world organizational environments.
Participants will explore:
The fundamentals of Project Management versus Operational Management
The impact of organizational structure and stakeholders on project success
Internationally accepted project management processes based on PMI’s PMBOK Guide (6th Edition)
Core project activities are covered through detailed modules:
Setting Up a Project: Initiating the Project Charter, performing stakeholder analysis, gathering requirements
Planning the Project: Creating essential planning documents such as Scope of Work (SOW), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Gantt Charts, and Risk Management plans
Executing, Monitoring, and Controlling: Implementing plans, tracking performance, managing risks and change requests
Project Closure: Handover planning, contract closure, project archive, and documenting lessons learned
Hands-on labs and real-world case examples reinforce learning, ensuring participants can immediately apply concepts like critical path analysis, stakeholder engagement planning, and project reporting.
By the end of the course, participants will:
Understand project lifecycle phases and core management processes
Communicate more effectively with stakeholders
Manage scope, time, cost, risk, and quality more systematically
Apply a consistent approach to planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects
Lay the groundwork for pursuing formal project management certifications in the future
This course is ideal for new project managers, business leads, coordinators, and individuals transitioning into project leadership roles.
